Assignment 2: Reflection

By collaborating with a partner on Assignment 2, I ran into some challenges, but overall I appreciate having a second perspective when taking my notes in the ucen. At first, it was challenging figuring out when we both had time in our schedules to meet in the beginning of the week. We wanted to meet early on in the week so we had enough time to write, but we also needed to free up two separate times to meet at the UCEN. Although it was only for about 15-20 minutes, that was still a challenge considering our conflicting schedules. Overall, I appreciated the fact that we could suggest non-traditional voices in our space together, because sometimes it is hard for me to pinpoint these sounds, and different sounds stick out to different people. Due to some confusion from lecture concepts, we were in disagreement about what a mediated voice was the first time we met, but after emailing Nicole to get more clarification we figured it out and were better able to identify these voices the next time around. Sometimes working with a partner makes you realize that you think you know something, but you might have a false interpretation, and it was nice to recognize this before being marked down in the final assignment.
